Yannis Polychronakis, civil engineer and owner of the property and Chiara Armando, architect, travelling into the time, leaded the team of  POLYERGO and transformed the historic Ottoman and Venetian building into 4 luxurious suites, at the old Turkish district of Gasi Housein Pasas.

Called Neratzé by the name of the mosque and its minaret, established in 1657 at the position of the Venetian church of Santa Maria of Augustinian, looking now at the suites from the opposite side of Mikrasiaton square.

The heart of the historical center of Rethymnon, with the most important monuments of Venetian and Ottoman period like the House of Culture, the ex Mosque Neratzé, now Music Hall, the archeological and Folk Art museum.

Neratzia is also a citrus tree, famous for its smell and used by the local population to make traditional sweets and marmalade. A legend tells that the Augustinian monastery was surrounded by them: this is the reason why you can find one of these trees in the small garden of the hotel.
